Happiness keeps you sweet.   Trials keep you strong.   Sorrows keep you human.   Failures keep you humble. And God keeps you going.
Tomorrow, May 1st, we will conclude our Novena to St. Peregrine.  Please continue to keep Sami Sloan in your prayers, along with all those who are facing cancer.

Brendan Charles O'Reilly Foundation

Last year after Brendan passed away, we awarded two $1000 scholarships to middle school students who the faculty and administration believed best embodied the spirit of Brendan. By spirit, we mean the commitment to helping turn classmates into a family. We have set up a charitable organization, the Brendan Charles O’Reilly Scholarship Fund, to continue to fund these scholarships for as long as possible.  We’re asking for your help by donating to support this effort.  Below you’ll find a link to the Brendan Charles O'Reilly Foundation webpage along with QR code for donations.  All donations are tax-deductible.  We thank you for your consideration.
This Saturday, April 20th, the 5 o'clock mass at St. Thomas More Church in Convent Station will be said in Brendan's memory.  Happy Heavenly 25th Birthday, Brendan!

Lord God, Jesus cried out to you on the cross, “Why have you forsaken me?” You seemed so far from his cry And from his distress. Those who stood at the foot of the cross Wondered where you were, As they saw Jesus mocked and shamed and killed. Where were you then? Lord God, We, too, ask where you are, When there is trouble and suffering and death, And we cry out to you for help. Be near to us, and save us So that we may praise you for your deliverance. Lord God, We wait, on Friday, for the resurrection of Sunday And sometimes our lives seem a succession of Fridays And we cannot see what is “Good.” Teach us to call your name As Jesus did. Make us to trust in you like little children. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
T oday we pray in memory of Brendan: God our Father, Your power brings us to birth, and by Your command we return to dust. Lord, those who die still live in Your presence, their lives change but do not end. We pray today for Brendan and Colleen, who died and now live in company with Christ. May they rejoice in Your kingdom, where all tears are wiped away. Lord, look upon us with love as we mourn, and unite us together again in one family, to sing Your praise, forever and ever. Your providence guides our lives, Amen
